Pain felt in the toe can be due to a number of causes. The pain can be caused by injuries or abnormalities to any of the surrounding structures in the toe and feet such as skin, soft tissues, bones, blood vessels, and nerves. Toe pain can be a common symptom since our feet are exposed daily to a number of factors that may cause injury. We are constantly performing basic activities such as walking, running or other athletic activity and just generally, moving around.
The most common causes of toe pain include cuts or scrapes, bunions, ingrown toenails, injuries, blisters, and corns and calluses. Additional causes of toe pain are infections and arthritis (which includes gout, rheumatoid arthritis, and other types). Some types of pain in the toe may come with a burning sensation, numbness, warmth or other symptoms.
Testimonial of an ANF patient who suffered from toe pain due to an accident:
“Toe pain after dropping several pounds directly on that toe! After 3 days of ANF disc therapy and taping, patient returned with pain level of 2, less bruising and swelling!”
