Can ANF Therapy® Help With Issues Related to Hemorrhoids?

Noduli Haemorrhoidales, also known as Hemorrhoids, are varicose veins located under the mucous membrane of the final part of the colon and anus. In simple terms, those are swollen blood vessels that dilate under pressure.

They look like bumps or nodules. It can be in different sizes depending on the progression and stage of the disease. It is a common issue of the modern age. It affects men and women equally; 1 in 20 Americans get some type of hemorrhoid.

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), around 50% of Americans older than 50 have hemorrhoids

Types Of Hemorrhoids

There are two basic types:

  1. external
  2. internal

The border between them is the so-called jagged line, located 1.5 – 2 cm from the anal edge.

External hemorrhoids are located below the dentate line, in the anal canal, under the thin skin. That part is rich in nerve endings and thus sensitive to temperature change and pain.

Internal hemorrhoids are located above this line. There are four subcategories, depending on the stage:

  1. No prolapse
  2. Prolapse that will retract on its own when bowel relax after defecation
  3. Prolapse that must be pushed back manually
  4. Prolapse that cannot be pushed back manually and usually requires doctors intervention

Thrombosed hemorrhoids are also worth mentioning. Occur when blood forms a blood clot (thrombosis) inside the hemorrhoidal tissue.

What Causes Hemorrhoids?

The exact cause is unknown. The human’s upright position can increase the pressure in the rectal veins. Sometimes that can cause them to enlarge.

The internal cause of the hemorrhoidal disease is hyperplasia (enlargement) of the internal venous plexus and weakness of the connective tissue of the vein wall. A sedentary lifestyle and poor diet increase the chances of getting hemorrhoids.

Some of the causes are:

-Constipation

-Long sitting on the toilet

-Obesity

-Consumption of spicy food and lack of consumption of fiber-rich food

-Prolonged sitting/jobs that have as a consequence muscle strain

-Genetics

-Hereditary factors

-Irregular meals

-Certain professions

-Climate

-Mental issues

-Hormonal changes

-Some medications

-Infections

-Pregnancy

-Poor physical activity

-Stress during urination

-Long-term use of laxatives

Symptoms

Depending on the type, we can distinguish different symptoms:

External hemorrhoids

  1. Swelling – swollen nodes on the outside of the anus
  2. Pain – especially during sitting or defecation; also during cleaning of the area of the anus
  3. Itching and redness – are the most common symptom, if inflamed, it will become sensitive, and that causes irritation

Internal hemorrhoids

  1. Pain during defecation – internal hemorrhoids rarely cause pain, if prolapse under the pressure, it can cause extreme pain
  2. The feeling of insufficient bowel movement
  3. Bleeding from the rectum – you can notice bright red/rose blood trails on toilet paper after defecation
